Lajosmizse lines up a full year of culture through the City Cultural Center and Library: summer evening concerts, open-air cinema, theater, exhibitions, fairs, and food events welcome locals and visitors alike.
March Highlights
March opens with the joint painting exhibition of Erzsébet Csernus and László Tibor Szalontai (03.05). Regulars can drop into the Board Game Club (03.06), while makers get hands-on at Ceramic Workshops (03.07, 03.21) and Enamel Art Workshops (03.14, 03.28). On 03.07, “Állj be Berci katonának…” blends a recruitment reenactment with a revolutionary dance house, and the Spring-Welcoming Cavalcade brightens the town. Sándor Gyöngyösi unpacks “Oh, Those Wonderful Medicinal Mushrooms” (03.10). Laughter lands with a stand-up comedy show featuring Gyuri Orosz, Dávid Záhonyi-Ábel, and Málÿki Valtner (03.12), paralleled by a group sound bath for inner calm. The town marks the anniversary of the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence with a commemorative ceremony (03.15). Spring to Early Summer
The national Animal and Flea Market returns on 04.05, then runs monthly through December. More ceramics (04.11, 04.25; 05.09, 05.23; 06.06) and enamel sessions (04.18; 05.16; 05.30; 06.13) keep creativity flowing. May, Summer, and Beyond
The 16th Caramel and Gingerbread May Day and Fair (Grillázs és Mézeskalács Majális és Vásár) (05.02) sweetens the season, followed by another animal market (05.03).
