The exhibition Lookbook – Fashion, Identity, and Narrative in Contemporary Hungarian Photography runs from May 16 to July 15 at the Kiscelli Museum, spotlighting how fashion photography maps urban life, layered style, and ever-shifting identity. It doesn’t just pose; it probes how clothes speak to who we are in the city, and how images both capture and decode that conversation.
Fashion as Mirror and Engine
The curators trace how fashion has reflected and shaped social norms, political climates, and lifestyle changes across eras. From silhouettes to streetwear, the show asks how trends both respond to and rewrite the rules of public life, turning the city into a runway where power, class, and taste perform in plain sight.
