Mezőkövesd’s Hajnal Hotel is rolling out a weekend-long pig feast that blends rustic tradition with hotel comfort and a splash of wellness. Running across selected weekends in 2026, it’s designed for anyone craving the full disznótor vibe — steaming pots, sizzling trays, clinking glasses — without giving up a spa robe and a late checkout.
Live-Music Buffet, All Season Long
From January through April and again from October through December 2026, guests can join a rolling series of programs centered on classic Hungarian pork dishes, fresh from the kitchen, served in a friendly, family-style hotel atmosphere. Friday night greets arrivals with a live-music buffet dinner that gets everyone in the spirit. Note: the event runs with a minimum of 40 guests.
Saturday: The Full Disznótor Experience
Daybreak comes with tradition in hand. Between 7:00–9:00 at reception, every guest gets 1 shot of pálinka and 1 cup of mulled wine, then a generous buffet breakfast from 7:00–10:00. At noon, it’s a parade of classics: broth with pork backbones and thin noodles with vegetables; toros cabbage; roast meats with potatoes; and fresh strudel. Evening turns into a communal feast with live music and a lavish disznótor buffet: soups; roast meats and ribs; hurka and kolbász; smashed potatoes with onions; stuffed cabbage; and desserts of honey cream slice and pudding. Sunday signs off with a hearty buffet breakfast featuring cracklings and bacon.
Wellness, Because You’ll Need It
Between courses, the hotel’s wellness facilities are yours to reset and recharge. It’s a cozy, festive, indulgent weekend in Mezőkövesd for lovers of Hungarian home cooking, live music, and that unmistakable village-feast mood.
