Mezőkövesd’s Hajnal Hotel is rolling out a full-on countryside pork feast weekend with live music, classic Hungarian dishes, and a matching wellness break. It’s all the warmth of a traditional pig slaughter feast (disznótor) in a comfy hotel setting, tailored for anyone craving big flavors, social vibes, and some restorative soaking between meals. The event runs on weekends from January through April 2026 and again October to December 2026, with a minimum of 40 guests required for the program to go ahead.
Live-Music Buffet Kickoff
Arrivals slide straight into a Friday night buffet dinner with live music, setting the mood for a friendly, festive weekend. Generous servings and toe-tapping tunes get everyone into the disznótor spirit from the first evening.
Saturday: The Disznótor Day
The big day starts early with a pork-feast atmosphere. Between 7:00 and 9:00 at reception, each guest gets one shot of pálinka and one cup of mulled wine. Then comes a buffet breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00. Lunch turns traditional with a buffet featuring pork backbone soup with vermicelli and vegetables, toros cabbage, roast meats with potatoes, and fresh strudel. The evening is the centerpiece: a disznótor with live music and a rich buffet lineup including soups, roast meats and ribs, blood sausage and sausage, mashed potatoes with onions, stuffed cabbage, and desserts like honey cream slice and pudding. The combination of music and heritage flavors nails the authentic feast mood.
Sunday Wrap-Up
The weekend closes with a hearty buffet breakfast starring cracklings and bacon—an unapologetically rich send-off after two days of serious flavor.
Wellness on the Side
Between courses, guests can unwind in the Hajnal Hotel’s wellness area. The setting is calm and close to the famed Zsóry Spa and Open-Air Bath (Zsóry Gyógy- és Strandfürdő), so relaxation is very much part of the package.
