Ready for a deep dive into the edgiest sounds? The brand-new Monolith Festival (Monolit Fesztivál) is coming to Budapest from August 1 to 3, 2025, promising a unique summer club fest for anyone obsessed with original, genre-blending music.
Lineup: Noisy Legends and Rising Stars
This three-day event brings together top bands from the progressive metal, metalcore, hardcore, noise, industrial, and experimental scenes—including those with bold touches of electronica. Highlights include Between the Buried and Me, a must-see in progressive metalcore, and Canada’s Counterparts, who fuse hardcore with the power of metalcore. Norway’s avant-garde band Shining and Slovenia’s brutal Within Destruction pack a serious punch, while The Browning mixes in eclectic electrocore.
Also performing are The Defect, a synthcore, female-fronted project; America’s grittiest industrial noise rockers meth.; British hardcore innovators POLAR; and top Hungarian extreme acts like Heedless Elegance, Satelles, Wires, Splitleaf, Rivers Ablaze, and Orion Dawn.
