Nagykanizsa presents a packed calendar of culture, concerts, theater, and festivals—centered around the Kanizsa Cultural Center (Kanizsai Kulturális Központ) and its three venues: Hevesi Sándor Cultural Center (Hevesi Sándor Művelődési Központ), Móricz Zsigmond House (Móricz Zsigmond Művelődési Ház), and Medgyaszay House (Medgyaszay Ház). Each location offers a vibrant range of programs for all ages.
Music, Theater, Comedy
October spotlights the LOUPE Theater Company’s tragicomedy ‘TITKOSSZOLGÁK’ and Marc Camoletti’s comedy ‘HATAN PIZSAMÁBAN’. Jazz lovers can get their groove on at JazzKanizsa in November, while Judit Schell and opera singer László Boldizsár headline ‘A NŐ ILLATA’, blending acting and music. Other highlights include: ‘Anyám tyúkja’ by the Örkény István Theater, the Cserháti Zsuzsa and Péter Máté tribute concert, and a solo comedy show by Zoltán Kőhalmi.
Family & Special Events
The cultural center offers Halloween arts and crafts and backstage tours for kids, a Kalap Jakab children’s concert, science lectures, and a mind-bending magic night with The Illusion Masters. As winter approaches, enjoy a unique gospel-meets-folk choir concert, operetta night, and much more. Organizers reserve the right to change dates or programs!
