Here’s the full tour of where to toast the year in harmony.
January 1: Grand openers
At 16:00 in Budapest’s Müpa, young listeners get highlights from Haydn: The Creation, while Szekszárd launches a New Year Queen Symphonic Concert pairing the Szolnok Symphony and the Crazy Little Queen Tribute Band at the Mihály Babits Cultural Center. At 17:00, Keszthely’s Balaton Theatre hosts The Music Is Love Itself – New Year’s Concert.
At 18:00, Budapest’s Radio Art Ensembles present New Year’s Overture 2026 at the Liszt Academy. Tatabánya’s Vértes Agóra stages its 2026 New Year’s Concert, and Sopron adds its own New Year’s Concert at the same hour.
Prime time at 19:00 bursts with choice: Budapest, You Magnificent! New Year’s Gala Concert at the Castle Garden Bazaar (Várkert Bazár); a New Year’s Gala with the Eger Symphony at the Géza Gárdonyi Theatre; Zoltán Mága’s 18th Budapest New Year’s Concert at Papp László Budapest Sportaréna; the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra’s New Year’s Concert in Veszprém’s Hangvilla; and a New Year’s Concert 2026 at Kecskemét’s Hírös Agóra. At 19:30, Müpa returns to Haydn: The Creation for the official New Year’s Concert.
January 2: From organ thunder to jazz diva glow
Tatabánya’s Vértes Agóra repeats the 2026 New Year’s Concert at 18:00. At 19:00, Balatonfüred’s Congress Center uncorks Musical and Operetta Stars – Sparkling New Year’s Gala Concert; Kaposvár’s Csiky Gergely Theatre hosts NEW YEAR’S OVERTURE 2026; Budapest’s MOM Cultural Center (MOM Kulturális Központ) welcomes accordionist Zoltán Orosz and Friends; and Veszprém’s Hangvilla brings Tóth Vera Band – Divas’ New Year.
At 20:00, the New Year’s Organ Concert roars through Budapest’s St. Stephen’s Basilica. At 21:00, Péter Egri and the Mystery Gang rev up a rockabilly-flavored New Year at the Vörös Neon Bar & Varieté.
January 3–4: Symphonic spreads and hot jazz
On Saturday, January 3, Székesfehérvár’s Vörösmarty Theatre hosts a morning New Year’s Concert at 11:00. At 18:00, Budapest’s Csili Cultural Center presents Boban Marković Orkestar, while Eger’s Hotel Eger & Park Liget Room stages a New Year’s Concert. Hot Jazz Band doubles up at Budapest’s Napfényes Restaurant & Event Hall with an 18:30 New Year’s Concert and a dinner edition. At 19:00, Zoltán Mága plays Debrecen’s Főnix Aréna, Budapest’s Marczibányi Cultural Center welcomes the Danube Symphony for a New Year’s Gala, the Győr National Theatre offers a New Year operetta and musical gala, and the Danubia Orchestra leads Vienna – Budapest – New Year’s Concert 2026 at the Budapest Congress Center.
Sunday, January 4, starts at 11:00 in Budapest with Hangfogó 2. New Year’s Greeting 25/26 at the Concerto Music House. Győr repeats its operetta-musical gala at 15:00 and 19:00. Salgótarján’s József Attila Cultural Center hosts New Year’s Gala 2026 at 17:00, while Müpa crowns the night at 19:30 with Hagyományok Háza (House of Traditions) New Year’s Greeting 2026.
January 5–11: Gospel fire and klezmer shine
On January 5, the Szeged National Theatre’s New Year’s Concert – America 250 salutes a quarter-millennium at 19:00. On January 6, the Budapest Congress Center welcomes The Original Golden Voices of Gospel for a New Year Joy Concert, then tours to Szombathely Cathedral on January 7 and Miskolc’s House of Arts on January 8. January 9 lights up Budapest’s Eötvös10 with the MÁV Symphony Orchestra Cello Ensemble New Year’s Concert, while Kiskunlacháza pops the cork with Hurray, Hurray! Operetta, Champagne, Love, Hungarian Verve. The Miskolc Symphony’s New Year’s Concert fills the National Theatre, Siófok hosts a gala, and Gyöngyös pours merriment with Wine and Revelry – New Year Operetta Gala.
January 10 brings morning and evening Miskolc concerts; Budapest’s Klebelsberg Kultúrkúria presents Viennese Blood, Hungarian Heart… New Year’s Gala at 19:00, while Szolnok’s Tiszaliget Sports Hall stages Musical and Operetta Stars. Vecsés’ Ágnes Bálint Cultural Center offers New Year’s Concert 2026 – Hit Museum, Dunaharaszti hosts the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra, and Budapest’s Klebelsberg Castle welcomes the Duna Chamber Orchestra.
January 11 wraps a packed week: 11:30 New Year’s Concert Encore at Müpa; 16:00 Kispest’s We Are Musician Souls; 17:00 Fót’s New Year’s Concert – Unpaired Pair; Szigetszentmiklós features the Danube Symphony at the Ádám Jenő School; Felsőzsolca hosts the Miskolc Symphony. January 12–31: Tours, tributes, and sparkling finales
The Original Golden Voices of Gospel reach Debrecen’s Reformed Great Church on January 12 and Szeged Cathedral on January 13. January 14 sees Zoltán Mága in Székesfehérvár’s Alba Regia Sports Hall, plus a New Year’s Gala Concert by the György Solti Orchestra and the Divertimento Chamber Orchestra at Budapest’s MOM Cultural Center. On January 15, Vác hosts a Best of Musicals New Year’s Concert.
January 16–18 deliver operetta streaks: Kisújszállás’s Hurray, Hurray! gala; Emőd’s New Year’s Concert with the Miskolc Symphony; Budapest’s Luminare String Quartet: New Year KLASSZ-POP on 16 Strings at the Angyalföld Cultural Center; Wine and Revelry operetta galas in Szekszárd and Győr; a sparkling duet night with Bori Orbán and Kristóf Pánczél at MKUK’s Crypt; candlelit chamber splendor with soloists of the Hatvan Chamber Orchestra on January 17 (two shows); Maglód’s New Year’s Concert and Brass Night; and Tatabánya’s Wine and Revelry on January 18. January 23 swings to Budapest’s Csepel Workers’ Home with Hurray, Hurray! (two parts) and Nagykanizsa’s Best of Musicals. January 24 doubles at the Miskolc House of Arts with Wine and Revelry and welcomes Zoltán Mága in Nyíregyháza’s Continental Arena. On January 29, Kaposvár’s Rainbow Palace hosts Pop, Swing & Soul – Gabi Szűcs’s New Year’s Concert. On January 31, Szerencs closes with Hurray, Hurray! at the town’s Cultural Center.
