On September 13, for the thirty-sixth time, Budapest (Budapest) will host “Night of Dance Houses – National Season-Opening Folk Dance Party” (Táncházak Éjszakája – Országos Szezonnyitó Táncházi Mulatság), launching the new folk dance season with a huge celebration. The event begins in the afternoon with hands-on family programs, where everyone can experience Hungarian folk music and dance traditions together.
Live Bands Bring Nightlong Fun
As evening falls, the party heats up with dance houses running until dawn, gathering top folk and world music bands on several stages. Organizers promise a vibrant mix of traditional tunes, energetic dancing, and a festive atmosphere for all ages. This year’s event is also part of the FONÓ30 anniversary program series, so visitors can expect extra-special surprises and a chance to join in an authentic celebration of music, dance, and lively community spirit.
