Kick back this August at the Igal Beach Festival, where sun-soaked relaxation gets turbocharged with live concerts, star guests, playful family activities, and nighttime pool sessions. From August 16 to 24, 2025, the heart of Igal (Rákóczi Square 30) transforms into the region’s liveliest hangout, combining carefree swimming with a full slate of entertainment for all ages.
Opening Day: Pool, Parties, and Star Power
The fun is non-stop on August 16, as the pools open at 9:00 a.m. and stay open until 11:30 p.m.—a rare treat. Buy your ticket any time during the day and you’re set for the evening events without paying extra. Want to come and go? You’ll need a multi-entry ticket.
Once you’re in, the beats kick off from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with DJ ÁBEL leading a music-filled swim. At 4:00 p.m., the legendary Kati Kovács graces the stage. Evening swimmers get their groove on during the Retro Disco (7:00–11:30 p.m.), again with DJ ÁBEL. Things heat up at 9:00 p.m. with an extravagant Arabian belly dance show by Luxurious Dance.
The pools are open late: the outdoor thermal pools, round family pools, and courtyard jacuzzi stay bubbling until 11:30 p.m.; indoor attractions and swimming lanes close at 9:00 p.m.; and the therapeutic pools and wellness rest area wind down at 7:30 p.m. The saunas and the giant slide stick to their usual schedule. Don’t forget, the pools close completely at midnight.
From 7:00 p.m., you can grab discounted evening tickets: adults (20–60 years) for $7.80, seniors (over 60) pay $6.70, and youth (4–20 years) get in for $6.40.
Family Sundays: Free Fun for Kids
On August 17 and 24—Family Sundays—kids under 10 get in absolutely free! The festival offers all-day entertainment with a free playhouse, bouncy castle, traditional folk games, and sparkling face painting from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
August 17 gets a musical boost from the Forever Duo (2:00–6:00 p.m.), and at 4:00 p.m., Péter Sramek takes the stage. On the last Sunday, August 24, enjoy a fun-packed children’s puppet show with Grimask Puppet Theatre at 4:00 p.m.
Star Appearances Continue
Don’t miss August 23, when DJ ÁBEL returns for another music pool party from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., popular singer Zoltán Bereczki steps into the spotlight for a live concert.
Accommodation and Local Vibes
The festival in Igal is not just about the pools. Nearby hotels and guesthouses make it easy to stay close to the action. The Hotel Peresa—steps from the iconic Igal Spa (Igali Gyógyfürdő)—offers 19 Mediterranean-style, non-smoking rooms, most with double beds. Civilian guests are welcome, in addition to personnel from the neighboring correctional and recreational facility, which also houses a wellness hotel.
For seniors, the Igal Retirement Apartment House offers a safe, homelike atmosphere just a stroll away from the spa. Set amid the rolling hills of Somogy County, this retreat is perfect for those seeking tranquility and healing mineral waters, and it’s within easy reach of Lake Balaton (25 miles) and Kaposvár (15.5 miles).
Dining and Further Comfort
Just 760 yards from the famous spa, Napsugár House Guesthouse and Rehabilitation Center is a top pick for guests with mobility or gynecological conditions—the spa’s therapeutic waters are especially recommended. All facilities are fully accessible.
Elsewhere, Marica Restaurant waits just outside the spa entrance, tempting you with a varied menu of homemade Hungarian favorites and a flower-filled garden terrace ideal for post-swim feasts. Weekends bring live music and surprise treats.
Organizers reserve the right to change dates or programs, but with a lineup like this, nothing could dampen the Igal summer spirit!
