Wine lovers are invited to the Pannonhalma Wine Region’s (Pannonhalmi borvidék) Márton Day Cellar Crawl from November 7-9, 2025. Open cellars, tastings of old and new wines, and a packed weekend program await visitors. Many wineries will present their new vintages for the first time, making it the perfect time to discover fresh flavors and local traditions.
Friday Warm-Up
Kick things off on Friday, with the Ács Winery in Győrújbarát (Győrújbarát) open by appointment, and the Cseri Winery in Nyúl (Nyúl) hosting a six-wine Márton Day dinner at 6 pm for $49 per person. At the Pannonhalma Abbey Winery (Pannonhalmi Apátsági Pincészet), guided cellar tours with cheese scones are offered at 11:30 am and 2 pm, while the evening wraps up with a top winemaker tasting event. Herold Cellar in Pannonhalma (Pannonhalma) offers a goose-themed dinner and live music from 6:30 pm.
Saturday’s Sip Marathon
The main events happen on Saturday: a special bus route runs every two hours from Hotel Famulus, stopping at wineries like Ács, Pécsinger, Babarczi, Cseri, Hangyál, Herold, and the Abbey. A daily bus ticket costs $11 (cash only), with pre-registration required by November 5.
Babarczi’s five-wine tasting with duck rillette is $18, Cseri’s unlimited “kencefice” (spread) buffet and tasting is $21, and Pannonhalma Abbey’s tours start at $13. Menus pair wine with regional bites, from goose liver pâté to homemade scones.
Sunday Wind Down
Sunday offers laid-back tours at Ács (by appointment) and the Abbey (three time slots), while other wineries close. Remember: advance registration for both programs and the bus is mandatory, cash only for the bus, and event photos may be used for marketing. Enjoy responsibly!
