June 22–27, 2026, Monday to Saturday, Óbuda World Music Week (Óbudai Világzenei Hét) brings a restless mix of Hungarian folk, Balkan fire, Mediterranean warmth, and Middle Eastern pulse to Budapest. Expect dance floors to erupt and courtyards to hum late into the night.

Headliners and Collaborations

The world-renowned Natacha Atlas, once the voice of Transglobal Underground, leads the international charge. The Budapest Klezmer Band teams up with Budapest Bár for a rare joint show featuring László Fekete, the chief cantor of the Dohány Street Synagogue (Dohány utcai zsinagóga), adding a spine-tingling sacred edge. György Ferenczi brings his trademark folk-blues energy, while Csángálló and Tokos ignite the stage with high-octane Transylvanian and Moldavian grooves.

More Than Concerts

Beyond the gigs, the festival opens a táncház (dance house), where live bands teach and fuel social folk dancing, a garden cinema for open-air film nights, and intimate talks that unpack the roots and routes of these traditions. Between the beat-heavy sets and quiet conversations, Óbuda transforms into a weeklong map of how folk keeps evolving—loud, local, and gloriously global.
