Cyprien Gaillard presents his first solo show in Hungary with Ocean II Ocean at Trafó Gallery (Trafó Galéria), pulling visitors beneath the surface—literally and metaphorically. The French artist deftly splices temporal and spatial gaps, bridging built and natural environments and stitching forgotten pasts into the fabric of everyday life. His works linger on the slow, inevitable collapse of things, finding a sharp, societal bite in the beauty of decay.
Expect a cross-genre sweep: film, video, photography, installation, and performance. Gaillard treats media like strata, compressing histories into visceral images and spaces you move through, not just look at. The result is a quietly radical archaeology of the present—ruins in progress, systems at their breaking point, and memories surfacing where you least expect them.
Dates and details
Open Friday, September 5, 2025, through Sunday, November 9, 2025, the exhibition anchors a larger program series at Trafó Gallery (Trafó Galéria).
