For its 11th year, Oktoberfest Budapest Beer Festival (SörfesztivĂĄl) will take place at the cityâs most iconic spots: Elizabeth Square (ErzsĂ©bet Square) downtown, under the trees on Margaret Island (Margitsziget), and on the Savoy Terrace (Savoyai Terrace) of Buda Castle with stunning views. Think classic beer garden vibes, authentic Munich festival brews, and live performances by Hungaryâs most popular German traditional bands. There will be Oktoberfest tunes, Bavarian sausages and pretzels, and plenty of people in Dirndl dresses and Lederhosen everywhere.
Festival Fever Takes Over Budapest
Festivities run from September 26-28 and October 3-5, 2025. The Fröccsterasz at Elizabeth Square (Erzsébet Square) will be open Fridays from 5-10 PM, Saturdays from noon-10 PM, and Sundays from 2-8 PM. The Paulaner Beer Garden & Cinema (Paulaner Sörkert & Mozi) on Margaret Island (Margitsziget) will be open Fridays from 5-10 PM, Saturdays from 2-10 PM, and Sundays from 2-8 PM. The Savoy Terrace (Savoyai Terrace) at Buda Castle will host events only on September 27, from 2-8 PM.
Ski Party Grand Finale
The celebrations wrap up on October 11 with an AprĂšs-Ski SoirĂ©e at Normafa Ski Lodge (Normafa SĂhĂĄz), from noon to 4 PM. Entry to all events is free.
