January Highlights
January 17 brings Michael Cooney’s “Nicsak, ki lakik itt?!” at the Bánfalvy Studio (Bánfalvy Stúdió), Petőfi Cultural Center (Petőfi Művelődési Központ), tickets 7,900–8,900 HUF (about 21.60–24.40 USD). The same day: Orosháza Farmers’ Ball (Orosházi Gazdabál) – 20th Anniversary. On January 19, Mihály László opens “Faces, Rhythms, Cultures” (Arcok, ritmusok, kultúrák), on view until February 12. January 21 features “Kötetlenül,” a theater-literary talk with actor Dorka Gryllus, moderated by Judit Csáki; free registration tickets are available in person or by phone at the Petőfi Cultural Center info desk. January 23 hosts a Hungarian Culture Day quiz night, while January 24 rolls in with the Mobile Cinema (MozgóMozi). On January 30, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons shines in a candlelit concert at the Petőfi Cultural Center. January 31 closes with a stand-up comedy show by Gyuri Orosz, Barnabás Lorán, and Mályki Valtner.
