Between March 8 and 14, the Paks Spring Festival rolls out a full week of culture, conversation, and community at Gagarin St. 2 (Gagarin u. 2.), inviting families, music lovers, readers, and curious minds to dive into concerts, talks, theater, film, and hands-on fun. Sunday warms up with the 2nd Alternative Physical-Mental Health Day from 10:00 to 17:00, plus The Cricket and the Ant (Tücsök és a Hangya), an interactive kids’ show at 10:00–10:45. The official opening and a Women’s Day exhibition launch follow at 17:00–18:00. At 18:00, the Fedák Sári Theater (Fedák Sári Színház) closes day one with BEST OF MAMMA MIA!, tickets about $5.50 (2,000 HUF).
Monday brings The Szoboszlai Story (A Szoboszlai-sztori) book talk with Zsolt Szoboszlai (Szoboszlai Zsolt) and Attila Kálnoki Kis (Kálnoki Kis Attila) from 17:00–18:30, then Monarchy Operetta’s (Monarchia Operett) Keep Playing, Until the Flowering Dawn (Húzzad csak, kivirágos virradatig) at 19:00–20:00, tickets about $5.50. Tuesday at 18:00–19:00, Word Written in Light (Fényre írt szó) blends animation and shadow theater with the Medin Tamburitza Band (Medinai Tamburazenekar) (registration required).
Wednesday features Réka Buda’s (Buda Réka) travelogue, 8 Months, 16 Countries, at 17:15–18:15. From 18:00–21:00, Every Star (Minden csillag) screens, followed by a live talk with Renátó Olasz (Olasz Renátó) and Gábor Böhm (Böhm Gábor).
Thursday kicks off at 17:00–18:00 with Márk McMenemy (McMenemy Márk) on how gardening can save the world. At 19:00–21:00, Dr. Annamária Kádár explores building emotional intelligence in childhood and adulthood; tickets are about $11 (4,000 HUF).
Friday lines up Zoltán Heidinger’s (Heidinger Zoltán) Degenerate Art (Elfajzott művészet) at 17:00–18:00, then Parents’ School on safe entertainment for kids at 18:00–19:00 (registration required). From 19:00–21:00, Flódni, an improvised cultural-history theater piece, takes the stage, tickets about $11.
Saturday 9:00–13:00, browse the Nyéki-Hegyi Handicraft and Producers’ Market. A spring hike runs 10:00–14:00 (registration required). At 16:00–17:30, an Easter workshop welcomes families, before a musical literary evening with Zsolt Prieger and Katica Nagy at 17:00–18:00.
