For seven days in late August 2025, the streets and parks of Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare, Romania) will be buzzing with music, performances, food, and Hungarian spirit during the 24th Partium Hungarian Days. It’s the ultimate summer sendoff for everyone from kids to grandparents, filling Kossuth Park with concerts, theater performances, open-air film screenings, craft fairs, and a feast of traditional food. Uniting people across generations and borders, the festival draws tens of thousands, closing out summer in the most colorful way.
A Week of Nonstop Celebration
From August 18 to 24, the festival takes over central Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare). Expect the crème de la crème of Hungarian music acts, creative workshops for children, vibrant craft and farmers’ markets with local delicacies, and endless opportunities for meaningful encounters. Although the full list of performers is still a secret, previous years have set the bar high, promising an itinerary packed with surprises and discoveries.
Roots, Identity, and Togetherness
Partium Hungarian Days began over 20 years ago in the heart of the Hungarian community of Szatmárnémeti (Satu Mare), rapidly growing into the region’s leading cultural festival. It welcomes not just Hungarians from Szatmár (Satu Mare) and neighboring counties, but also local Romanians and visitors from as far as Hungary and Ukraine (Zakarpattia), swelling to over 50,000 participants before the pandemic.
