Pécs has a standing Saturday date with beer lovers. The Pécsi Sörfőzde (Pécs Brewery), Hungary’s oldest continuously operating brewery, opens its doors every Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 for an insider tour that goes from mash to pint. You’ll walk the production floor, learn how malt, hops, yeast, and water turn into beer, and wrap it all up with a guided tasting in the showroom. Registration is required by Thursday at 20:00, and visits run depending on the number of participants. If you’re rolling in with more than 15 people, they’ll even set up a weekday slot. The fee is $10.80 per person, and yes, that includes the tasting. Location: 7600 Pécs, Tavasz utca 13. Contact: József Aradi via the listed email for headcount and confirmation—your spot’s only secured after you get their reply.

What You’ll See (and Drink)
Guides walk you through the full beer-making journey—brewing, fermentation, and the careful steps in between. It’s hands-on without getting your hands wet, and the stories come from people who actually make the stuff. The finale is a proper tasting in the showroom, led by a pro who’ll nudge you to notice more than just bitter vs. sweet. Think aroma, body, balance—the good geeky bits that make tastings fun. The tour runs two hours, but plan a little extra time to linger in the showroom if your group gets chatty.
