Bring Your Mushrooms—Win Fame!
Visitors are welcome to bring as many wild mushrooms as they can find. Experts at the museum will help identify your finds and put them on display for everyone to see. If your mushroom catches attention, your name might earn a spot on the festival’s “glory board”—and you can enter the Mushroom Beauty Contest for the best-looking fungi.
Fun for All Ages
Test your mushroom knowledge with a game made from freeze-dried mushrooms, identifying as many as possible along with their edibility. Explore “Mushroomscope” to view fascinating projected microscope images of mushroom spores and hyphae, and catch films looping the most notable edible and toxic species at “Mushroom Cinema.”
Kids have their own special corner with tricky mushroom games and quizzes, all run by a certified mushroom expert. The festival opens at 9 AM and wraps up at 5 PM on October 18 in the museum’s grand Dome Hall.
