Pike-Perch (Zander) Festival events are taking over Hungary from October 24-25, 2025, with culinary celebrations and tradition-filled programs in several towns. The highlight is the Szigliget Pike-Perch (Zander) Festival (Szigligeti Süllőfesztivál), inviting foodies to enjoy authentic regional dishes, a festive atmosphere, and boat cruises on Lake Balaton. Even getting there is an experience—hop aboard a sightseeing cruise straight to the heart of the festival.
Autumn Adventures & Workshop Fun
If you’re in the area in September or October, there are plenty of activities beyond fish feasting. Take a fall excursion to Pákozd Military Memorial Park (Pákozdi Katonai Emlékpark) from September 1 to October 31, or join outdoor laser tag games, which run until November 2. For those feeling creative, mineral jewelry-making and textile painting workshops are available from mid-September to mid-December. And food lovers can indulge at the 6th Stuffed Cabbage and Pancake Festival (6. Töltött Káposzta és Palacsinta Fesztivál) from October 23-26.
