Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd arrives in 2025 under director Kornél Simon at Veres 1 Színház (Veres 1 Theatre), keeping the classic feel but shaking up the cast in all the right ways. Dénes Száraz plays steadfast friend Hector Blunt, while Szilveszter P. Szabó makes his company debut as Dr. James Sheppard, the physician aiding the investigation. The iconic, portly, mustachioed Belgian, Hercule Poirot, is portrayed by African-born Artúr Kálid, a bold pick for Christie purists and newcomers alike.
