when: 2025.10.25., Saturday
where: 1146 Budapest - 14. kerület - Zugló, Hősök tere

Pumpkin Lantern Festival returns to Budapest’s Heroes’ Square (Hősök Tere) on October 25, 2025, lighting up the night from 7 pm to 9 pm. Bring your family, gather your friends, and don’t forget your own hand-carved pumpkin lantern! The festival’s 17th edition promises breathtaking pumpkins, wild costumes, and an electric atmosphere, all for a good cause: supporting underprivileged children.

Charity with Pumpkins

This free, nonprofit event asks each guest to bring 1–3 cans or other non-perishable food items. Donations will go to the Children’s Meals Foundation, helping children in need across Hungary. It’s not just about pumpkins—your food donations can brighten a child’s day.

No Barriers, Just Lanterns

No fences, no stage, just participants and their glowing lanterns scattered throughout the square. Everyone meets at 7 pm, displays their creations, then quietly departs at 9 pm. Please—do not climb on the statues, keep an eye on your children, and leave nothing behind except your donated food.

2025, adrienne
