The Dorozsma Pumpkin Festival (Dorozsmai Tökfesztivál) returns for its 15th year on October 10-11, 2025, filling the courtyard of the Sándor Petőfi Community Center (Petőfi Sándor Művelődési Ház) at 12 Forty-Eighters Street (Negyvennyolcas utca) with autumn fun. Pumpkin fever kicks off Friday morning as teams each receive 11 pounds of fish to prepare, while kids enjoy a concert by Helikoffer. All ages can join in police demonstrations, crafts, glitter tattoos, foosball, rodeo bull rides, a bouncy castle, and pony rides.
Friday Fun Galore
Later, the festival honors “pumpkin seeds” (young talents) and athletes with awards, before a pumpkin lantern parade lights up the evening. Snack stands offer sweets, hot dogs, waffles, ice cream, roasted pumpkin and apples, plus plenty of games.
Pumpkin, Music, and More on Saturday
Saturday starts strong with a fish stew cook-off for 10-person teams, a culinary sculpture demonstration by Attila Tanács, a stand-up show featuring culinary humor, and concerts by Tibi Várkonyi (Várkonyi Tibi) and KOZMIX. Awards are given out before stage shows, and the festival wraps up with a massive disco and Ferkó Kádár’s (Kádár Ferkó) photo theater.
