The BábSzínTér Company returns in 2025, filling Vaszary Park in Kaposvár with a lively series of puppet performances and family programs. There’s something for everyone—morning matinees, baby theatre, shows for preschoolers, school kids, and even big kids (a.k.a. adults). Don’t expect a dull moment, especially if you spring for one of those season passes.
October: Puppets on the Move
Monday, October 20, at 10:00 AM kicks off the “Ungvár – Határtalanul” (“Uzhhorod – Without Borders”) program in Kárpátalja (Transcarpathia) with Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom (“László the Brave and the Cursed Mill”) by János Pályi. On October 24, kids can let loose at a holiday playhouse until 1:00 PM. Sunday, October 26 starts with a family matinée at 10:00, toy time, then a Malac és Liba (“Pig and Goose”) puppet show from Kabóca Puppet Theatre (Kabóca Bábszínház). The playhouse returns October 27–29 from 10:00 to 1:00.
November: Classic Tales Continue
On Sunday, November 9, at 10:00 AM, it’s family fun, toys, and Boribon, performed by Harlekin Puppet Theatre (Harlekin Bábszínház). Preschool subscription shows of Boribon run November 10–13, with two performances each day. On November 26, Kozármisleny joins the fun with Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom through the Lázár Ervin Program. On November 30, it’s playtime followed by the festive Ha betér az Égi Király (“If the Heavenly King Visits”).
December: Full-On Festive Mode
December explodes with Mikulás matinée (Santa Claus Matinée) and Robin Hood shows, multiple subscription events, youth and adult performances, and pre-Christmas craft fun on December 14 and 21. The year wraps up with a Christmas matinée on December 28.
