Bábszíntér Társulat is rolling out a packed calendar of puppet shows for 2025, inviting everyone from toddlers to adults to experience the magic of theater in Kaposvár’s Vaszary Park—and beyond. There’s something for everyone: matinee performances, baby theater, kid-focused shows for preschools and schools, as well as special events for adults and season ticket holders.
October Kicks Off the Season
On October 20, the troupe heads to Uzhhorod (Ungvár) with “Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom” (László the Brave and the Cursed Mill), starring János Pályi. School holiday playhouses fill the week of October 24, 27, 28, and 29, allowing kids to get hands-on until 1 p.m. On October 26, it’s family time with a morning workshop and the puppet show “Malac és Liba” (Pig and Goose), courtesy of Kabóca Puppet Theatre (Kabóca Bábszínház).
November: Marathons and Magic
The beloved puppet “Boribon” takes center stage, with special Sunday mornings for families and a marathon of performances for preschools from November 10 to 13—two sessions each day by Harlequin Puppet Theatre (Harlekin Bábszínház). On November 26, the team visits Kozármisleny for the Lázár Ervin Program, reviving “Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom.” The month wraps up with an Advent matinée on November 30, as Fabók Mancsi Puppet Theatre (Fabók Mancsi Bábszínháza) presents “Ha betér az Égi Király” (If the Heavenly King Stops By).
Festive December
December ushers in the holidays with a Santa-themed matinée on the 7th and a series of “Robin Hood” shows for older kids, teens, and adults from December 8 to 9—performed by Kabóca Puppet Theatre (Kabóca Bábszínház). Holiday craft sessions get everyone into the spirit on December 14 and 21, while a Christmas matinée closes the year on December 28.
Events run throughout autumn and winter in Kaposvár and surrounding areas, but if you’re planning to attend, double-check the dates—organizers may change the schedule at any time.
