The 6th KeveFeszt lands on the Danube bank in Ráckeve June 12–13, throwing a two-day celebration of dance, music, culture, and food from all 13 recognized nationalities living in Hungary. Entry is free, and this year spotlights the Hungarian German community, from school troupes to powerhouse bands, climaxing with an 8:30 p.m. Magna Cum Laude concert.
Friday Highlights
Kick off June 12 at 5:00 p.m. with the launch of Veronika Szász’s cookbook at Horgásztanya Restaurant (Horgásztanya Vendéglő), then slide into an 8:30 p.m. Budapest Bár concert on Szegedi Kis István Promenade. Expect that riverside magic: live music, great food stalls, and a crowd ready to dance.
Saturday in Full Swing
June 13 opens with a 10:00 a.m. Mass at the Church of St. John the Baptist, then an 11:00 a.m. nationality parade. On the promenade, the Cardinal band starts at 10:00 a.m., followed by a festive opening at 11:30 a.m. featuring the German group from Árpád the Conqueror Primary School in Ráckeve (Ráckeve Árpád Fejedelem Primary School) and the Bokréta Folk Dance Ensemble. The lineup rolls on: Szigetújfalu German Dance Ensemble, Überraschung (Szigetcsép), Takser Spatzen, Rőzse and Kéve ensembles, Téglás, Ildikó Frank’s Suitcase Tales (Frank Ildikó), Veronaki’s kids’ show, Opanke, then a Selo Orkestar dance house at 7:30 p.m., Magna Cum Laude at 8:30 p.m., and a closing Selo Orkestar dance house at 10:00 p.m.
Food, Crafts, Family Fun
