Győr’s Richter Hall is rolling out a lively 2025–2026 program: concerts, operettas, theater, and comedy nights for anyone chasing quality entertainment. The building houses the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra and is named after the world-famous, locally born conductor János Richter. On the second floor, there’s a sleek, soundproof, 1,076-square-foot rehearsal room with gorgeous lighting and air conditioning—easy on the eyes, easier on the music.

A nagymama (The Grandmother)

Premiered in February 1916 at the Király Theatre (Király Színház), this smash-hit operetta by Albert Szirmai and Károly Bakonyi stars Miska, the stable boy turned faux Count Tasziló by engineer István Baracs to avenge a slight from Count Korláthy, who blocks the railway’s route to suit his own interests. Romantic chaos erupts when Baracs and Korláthy’s daughter fall for each other at a fair. Incognito, they’re fine—inside the castle, a social chasm yawns.
