A new exhibition showcases the Polaroid photos of legendary Dutch cinematographer Robby Müller from November 4 to 30, with an opening on November 2. Müller was a defining creative partner for Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch, and Lars von Trier, shaping the look of cult classics like Paris, Texas (Párizs, Texas), Down by Law (Törvénytől sújtva), and Breaking the Waves (Hullámtörés).
Light, Color, and Quiet Moments
Shot between film sets, Müller’s Polaroids capture cityscapes, interiors, and fleeting pauses where light and color do the heavy lifting. These intimate frames echo his cinematic eye: windows washed in morning haze, neon bleeding into night streets, rooms that feel like they’re listening. The images aren’t sketches or throwaways—they’re distilled mood, the visual grammar that made his films hum.
A Rare Look Behind the Lens
This tight, time-capsule selection reveals how Müller thought with light long before the camera rolled. It’s a quiet master class in seeing, from a restless traveler who turned waiting into poetry.
