Nov 2, 2025 — Family Quest in the Realm of Red Earth, Gánt
Wrap up fall break with a standout adventure in Gánt, land of the famous bauxite mines, where the ground hides real treasures. The tour heads into a mine yard we’ve never visited with an organized group before, and this area holds the largest fossils on site. Among minerals, expect lots of calcite in varied forms. Along the way, get to know the mine’s geological quirks, learn how to identify different minerals, spot clues that hint at mineral or fossil finds, and collect your own specimens. The terrain is easy, ideal for families with small children. Location: 8082 Gánt.
Nov 16, 2025 — Lights and Crystal Magic in Pilisjászfalu
Discover Pilisjászfalu’s hidden riches on a tour where nature meets light in a dazzling show. Every outing yields striking calcite crystals, most of which glow vividly under UV-A light (365/395 nm) — like stepping into another dimension. Using UV-A lamps, we’ll search for UV-active minerals, and at certain spots, entire rock faces blaze to life — a breathtaking sight. You can take home the best-glowing pieces, so you leave with both memories and natural marvels. Location: 2519 Pilisjászfalu.
