From September 27 to October 19, 2025, ModernTéka walks offer a unique way to explore Budapest’s post-World War II architectural wonders. As part of the autumn ETOM – European Triennial of Modernism festival, the program features ten different routes, each guided by a true expert in the field.

Discover Hidden Modernist Gems

Curious participants can stroll through lesser-known districts like New Palota (Újpalota) and New Buda (Újbuda), admire experimental housing blocks in Old Buda (Óbuda) and Budafok, and uncover creative marvels from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s tucked into Budapest’s inner neighborhoods. Modernist gems in the Buda Castle District (Várnegyed) and in some of Angel’s Field (Angyalföld)’s earliest housing estates are also included on the itinerary, promising a wide range of architectural styles and stories.

How to Join?

Tickets are required, but discounted festival passes are available for those interested in multiple adventures. It’s a guaranteed treat for anyone ready to rediscover Budapest through a modernist lens.
