Budapest’s Zsilip is rolling out family-friendly Shabbat and Sunday learning that actually keeps kids hooked—and gives parents time to dive deeper.
Friday Night: Péntekecske
On November 7 and November 14, the Zsiliputi playhouse hosts a mini Shabbat welcome for children while adults catch Rabbi Glitzi’s teaching in the synagogue. A madricha leads playful sessions on the weekly Torah portion, Shabbat, and current holidays, with pictures, games, and plenty of energy. Kids who pay close attention get gifts—and there’s even a raffle. Bring the whole family and make Shabbat a shared habit.
Sunday Is Back: Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School
November 9 marks the refreshed return of the Zsiliputi Zsidó Vasárnapi Iskola (Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School) at the Zsilip Center, now equipped with a two-level playhouse and multiple study rooms. Generations of kids spent Sunday mornings here and still talk about the memories. The new program runs 10:00–12:30 for ages 4–14, with small groups by age. Together, kids prep for upcoming holidays, learn about mitzvot, explore traditions, and absorb the values meant to guide them for life. Whether you’re tiny, a tween, nearly a youth leader, or approaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah, this is built for you.
More Dates, More Community
The calendar keeps growing—15 dates in total are coming—so families can lock in regular Shabbat and Sunday learning. Location: Budapest. Bring curiosity; leave with prizes, friends, and a stronger Jewish week.
