Budapest’s Zsilip rolls out cozy Friday nights and a revamped Sunday school that packs play, tradition, and a dash of raffle magic.
Friday Night: Péntekecske
On 2025.11.07 and again on 2025.11.14, the Zsiliputi playhouse hosts a mini Shabbat welcome for kids while parents attend Rabbi Glitzi’s teaching in the synagogue. A madricha leads playful sessions with pictures on the weekly Torah portion, Shabbat, and the current holiday, with plenty of games. Kids who listen well get gifts — and yes, there’s even a raffle. Bring the whole family and make Shabbat a day of learning for everyone.
Sunday School Is Back, Bigger
On 2025.11.09, the Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School (Zsiliputi Zsidó Vasárnapi Iskola) returns to the Zsilip Center, now refreshed and ready in the two-level playhouse plus multiple study rooms. Generations remember Sunday mornings here for shared games and playful learning; now a young, energetic team is set to rekindle that spark.
Who, When, What
From 10:00 to 12:30, kids and teens ages 4–14 are grouped by age to:
– get ready for upcoming holidays,
– learn about mitzvot,
– explore traditions together,
– and pick up values that carry through life.
Whether you’re little, a tween, a teen-in-training, or heading toward Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the Zsiliputi Sunday School is made for you. Budapest awaits — games, learning, community, repeat.
