Siófok is switching to full-on summer mode with a packed calendar of festivals, beach concerts, theater under the stars, exhibitions, family days, and interactive city games from early June into July. Multiple venues across the 8600 ZIP code area brim with options, from lavender harvests and street music to techno marathons and boat parties. Here’s the week-by-week lowdown, with plenty to plan around on the south shore of Lake Balaton.
June 1–7: Books, beats, and brushes
Kick off on Thursday, June 4 at 16:30 with Kezünkben a világvége…—an unconventional environmental class with author Ildi Vibók at BRTK Library, Siófok. Saturday starts early, June 6 at 09:30, with a Sound Bath with Kitty J. Zeller at BRTK Library.
The city’s mineral temple turns 40 the same day: the Mineral Museum (Ásványmúzeum; 8600 Siófok, Kálmán Imre Promenade [sétány] 10) celebrates its jubilee on June 6 from 11:00 to 15:30 with free entry. Expect refreshed showcases spotlighting rare Transylvanian formations, a dinosaur footprint and fossils, guided tours by founder-collector Lajos Kövecses-Varga, plus a limited-run Jubilee Shop of signed-label mineral rarities.
Saturday also belongs to painters: Ecsetre Fel!—the 3rd Open-Air Painters’ Meet returns with a free, all-day creative jamboree. From 10:00 the ceremonial opening rolls into the MÚOSZ Press Photo Exhibition launch at Dísz tér – Hajóállomás; open-air painting with amateur artists (10:00–16:00), cheerful caricatures (14:00–18:00), personal color analysis with Évi Sipos (14:00–16:00), a VNP Acoustic Session live set at 15:00, a “Color and Word” postcard workshop at 16:00, artwork evaluation (16:00–16:30), awards at 17:00, and a relaxing color meditation in the Rose Garden at 17:30.
Out on the water, June 6 hosts the IKREK boat—PETER MAKTO’s six-hour exclusive 48th birthday set. Gather at Siófok, Krúdy Promenade (sétány) 2 (Hajóállomás) from 15:00, boarding 15:30, start 16:00 sharp, docking 22:00 per BAHART’s schedule. No late arrivals—this run is tight.
Beach nights heat up at Plázs Siófok: Friday, June 5 brings Beton.Hofi and Co Lee from 19:00 to 23:00, followed by RapCaviar with Tha Patkányz, Mikee Mykanic, FRANKO, Füstös, and Detto (June 5, 22:00–June 6, 04:00). Saturday, June 6, Parno Graszt headlines with guest Dánielfy, 19:00–23:00.
All week, families can dive into a self-guided outdoor sightseeing adventure game (June 1–7), turning the town’s landmarks into playful checkpoints. And starting June 5, ÉnKertem – Lavender Harvest opens at Diófás út 136, Siófok, running through July 7.
June 8–14: Dance, kids’ lit, and late-night arena
Monday, June 8 at 19:00, the Duna Art Ensemble and Göncöl Band bring Fathers and Sons (Apák és fiak) to the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center’s theater. Jászai Mari Prize-winning actor Ödön Rubold quotes Ferenc Kölcsey’s Parainesis to Kálmán Kölcsey (Parainesis Kölcsey Kálmánhoz), with dancer Máté Orosz appearing. June 10 doubles up at BRTK Library: Piggy and Goose (Malac és Liba), an interactive kids’ session with Krisztina Tóth at 13:30, then Tóth’s new book Can-Can on the Glass Floor (Kánkán az üvegpadlón) at 17:00. June 11 at 17:00, Katalin Szegedi presents As If It Were Yesterday (Mintha tegnap) in the same venue.
Plázs Siófok turns up Friday, June 12: DESH plays 19:00–23:00, while NECC PARTY storms 22:00–04:00. Lavender lovers get a bonus harvest weekend June 12–14. Saturday, June 13, there’s another Sound Bath at 09:30, then Carson Coma on the main stage 19:00–23:00, and the EL PASO night with Purebeat, Chriss Jay, Rick Wayne, Polevaya, Wizty, and resident Barta.
June 15–23: Neoton nostalgia, street tunes, and Everness
Friday, June 19, Neoton takes Plázs 19:00–23:00. The same night launches Metzker & Friends in the Plázs Arena, with Viktória Metzker, Milán Koósz, Mario, Pixa, and live K-OSZ TV. Lavender harvest continues June 19–21, and the Everness Festival (Everness Fesztivál) runs June 19–28.
Saturday, June 20, Siófok’s streets pulse with the 2nd Street Music Cavalcade (Utcazene Kavalkád): multiple spots, mixed genres, casual encounters, proper city-festival vibes. Also on June 20: Pogány Induló at Plázs and the 2nd Siófok Mölkky Championship from 13:00 in the Beszédes József Primary School park—winners snag genuine Mölkky sets, plus a Finnish quiz for the brave. From June 22, the Beach Library (Strandkönyvtár) opens on Sóstó and Újhely beaches, lending reads straight to your sunbed through August 19.
June 26–28: AstroFest lands on the sand
Friday, June 26, the BNK (Bódis-Nagy Katinka) Dance Association stages a big show at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center—Summer, Balaton, hit songs—titled How Could I Live Without You? (Hogyan tudnék élni nélküled?). Then Plázs goes supersized with AstroFest, June 26–27.

July spotlight: Musicals, legends, and boat beats
Wednesday, July 1 at 21:00, American Comedy (Amerikai komédia) by Veres 1 Színház takes the Kálmán Imre Open-Air Stage (Jókai Park 5). Set in 1938 aboard the La Paz, it’s a swing-powered caper of love, money, and reinvention. Libretto and lyrics by Attila Lőrinczy from Károly Aszlányi’s play, music by Bálint Bársony, directed by Károly Peller. Runtime 100 minutes plus one intermission. July 2, Krisz Rudi’s exclusive Homokba rajzolt szerelem mega-concert hits Plázs with guest AK26 (doors 19:00).
