Talks, Books, and Free Community Events
On April 29 at 5:00 PM, writer Anikó Sándor presents Falusi Camino at the BRTK Library auditorium—free entry. The library keeps the conversation going through May: Dr. Gabriella Mangó, physician and naturopath, shares The Secret to a Longer Life on May 13 at 5:00 PM (free); children get a hands-on, live-bee session for World Bee Day on May 15 at 4:30 PM with answers to big questions like why bees matter and how honey reaches your table, plus a chance to buy Happy Bees Balaton Mini Honey products. On May 7 at 4:30 PM, food storyteller Györgyi Kalas hosts Gastro Tales for kids: when was the first pizza baked, why is cake round, why is macaroni hollow, and what food was buried with the pharaohs? Siófok Spring Festival runs Mar 20–Apr 30 across town. May 1–2 brings Retro May Day (Majális) to the Great Beach (Nagystrand), 10:00 AM–10:00 PM daily: 80s-themed shows, iconic performers, a gastro courtyard, and kids’ programs right on the water. May 9, from 9:00 AM: Richter City of Health (Richter Egészségváros) health fair lands at the Great Beach with free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, cardiovascular risk, prostate, osteoporosis, arterial stenosis, neuropathy), talks, and family activities.
