Siófok on Lake Balaton’s south shore is packing the calendar with festivals, concerts, theater, exhibitions, and hands-on family programs through May 2026. From a two-day Retro May Day on the Big Beach to a four-day Pentecost Season Opener, plus boat cruises, outdoor city-quest games, health days, and kid-focused extravaganzas, the town is going big on community, nostalgia, and live entertainment across multiple venues.
Retro May Day on the Big Beach
May 1–2, 10:00–22:00 daily, Siófok Big Beach (Siófoki Nagystrand). The 1980s are back with iconic performers, colorful stage shows, a gastro courtyard, and children’s activities right by the water. New this year: an interactive twist inviting guests to dig out those quintessentially ’80s “fashionable” outfits. Come dressed; the most inventive, stylish retro looks win valuable prizes.
Madagascar Small-Animal Show
May 3, 14:00–17:00, Sports Hall (Munkacsarnok), Déli út 1. Hours of cuddle-friendly fun with surprise meerkats, photo ops with a macaw, and a petting area. Tickets: child USD 8.50, senior USD 8.50, adult USD 9.90.
Boat Cruises and Outdoor Adventure Game
Siófok boat excursions (Siófoki hajókirándulás) run May 1–3, May 4–10, May 11–17, May 18–24, and May 25–31. Also from April 27–May 3 and weekly thereafter: a playful outdoor sightseeing quest to explore Siófok’s highlights with friends or family (“Szórakoztató szabadtéri városnéző kalandjáték”).
Koncz Zsuzsa Live
May 4, 19:00, Kálmán Imre Cultural Center, Theater Hall. A titan of Hungarian pop and a Kossuth, Franz Liszt (Liszt Ferenc), and Prima Primissima laureate, Koncz brings her band and timeless anthems of freedom, soul, love, and life’s road, newly energized with rich arrangements. Tickets USD 38.30.
Farce Night: Not Now, Darling!
May 7, 19:00, Kálmán Imre Cultural Center. Veres 1 Színház stages Ray Cooney’s two-act madhouse of fur coats, lovers in closets, flying garments, and mounting chaos set in London’s chicest fur salon. Food Tales and Road Safety Day
May 7, 16:30, BRTK Library children’s section: Györgyi Kalas’s Food Tales (Gasztromesék) dives into when the first pizza was baked, why cakes are round, why macaroni is hollow, and what food was buried with pharaohs. Free with a valid library card. Earlier that day, 9:00–15:00, Siófok Road Safety Day returns with demos, interactive tools, and hands-on elements for all ages, spotlighting safe walking, cycling, and driving.
Richter Health City on the Big Beach
May 9, from 9:00, Siófok Big Beach (Siófoki Nagystrand). A national roadshow where your participation funds local healthcare. Free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, cardiovascular risk, prostate, osteoporosis, arterial stenosis, neuropathy), expert talks, family activities, and a points system: Richter starts with a USD 9,480 base donation you can boost by attending screenings and lectures (even online). First QR wristband check-in earns double points. Ambassadors on site, too.
Salon Music and Wellness Week
May 11, Café Evenings (Kávéházi estek): pianist Péter Sándor at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center Teátrum, tickets USD 9.90. F1, Finns, and an Art Opening
May 18, 17:00, BRTK Library: 40 Hungarian Grands Prix – 7 Finnish Drivers with veteran F1 reporter–author Károly Méhes; opened by the president of Siófok’s Hungarian–Finnish Friendship Circle. May 22, 18:00, Kálmán Imre Cultural Center: István Móczár retrospective, The Impossibilities of an Image-Show by a Visualist (Egy vizualista képelő képtelenségei), part of the 10th Siófok Balaton Salon (Siófoki Balaton Szalon), on view until August 14. Pentecost: Season Opener Weekend
May 22–25 lights up town-wide. May 22: Yoga on deck; free Time Traveler Rock Band (Időutazó Rock Band) at 19:00 and Pokolgép at 20:30 on the boat pier; and at Plázs Siófok, Attila Kökény & Viktor Rakonczai big-band show, plus Imre Rakonczai & The Blue Piano (doors 19:00).
May 23: ceremonial wreath-laying and plaque events, an upbeat parade from Millennium Park to the Boat Station, the handover of the City of Summer key, and awards (Tourism of Siófok, Imre Varga Art, Siófok City Wine 2026). Performers all day include Attila Dolhai, Bónus Band (Bónus Együttes) with retro hits, dance studios, Eszter Bíró, Danubia Percussion Ensemble, and a 20:30 Adrienn Szekeres concert. Plázs Grand Opening blasts 22:00–04:00 with MARIO, MOLLYWOOD, VINI, VZS, Barta, Attila Bárány, Bia Bréda, Brook, CHRSTPHR, Gabriel Dancer, JAURi, and Katapult DJ. Also: Plázs Boat.

May 30: the 12th Cofidis Tour de Balaton rolls through; Plázs Siófok hosts Kowalsky and the Vega (Kowalsky meg a Vega), 19:00–23:00; and at the Lutheran Church in Oulu Park, 18:00, Across Styles with Tamás Szekeres (Stílusokon át Szekeres Tamással) — guitar virtuoso Tamás Szekeres plays Omega and Omega Oratorio (Omega Oratórium) classics alongside Bach and Vivaldi in crossover style, joined by the Siófok Art School Children’s Choir and the Siófok Women’s Choir, led by Anita and Zoltán Bati. Children’s Day Takes Over Fő tér
May 31, all day, free. Fő tér turns into one massive playground: giant bubble show, aerial acrobatics to watch and try (ages 5+), an Exatlon obstacle course (138 ft), air track, hoverboard and scooter fun, bounce houses, and creative workshops. Stage lineup: 10:00 Edina Lovászi and band’s ABC concert with puppetry; 11:30 aerial showcase; 12:00–13:30 aerial tryout; 13:30 Fellegjárók children’s concert; 15:00 Sólya folk concert and dance house; 17:00 Rutkai Bori Banda to close the day with a favorite kids’ set.
