The Strawberry Fair Frenzy lands at Iskola Lake (Iskola-tó) in Lajosmizse on Saturday, May 16, 2026, turning the lakeside into a sweet, red-tinted playground. Nearly 100 dedicated growers bring the region’s freshest, juiciest strawberries straight to the crowd, making it the go-to spot to taste and buy top-quality fruit directly from producers. Alongside the craft market, families can dive into all-day fun: local performances, skill games, hands-on workshops, glitter tattoos, hearty food stalls, and a bouncy castle keep the tempo lively from morning to night.
Where food, culture, and play collide
The day kicks off at 10:00 with Mayor Zsolt Fekete’s welcome, followed at 10:15 by singer Zsuzsi Szerző. At 10:30 the Ladybug group from Meserét Kindergarten (Meserét Óvoda) takes the stage, then 11:00 brings the Dapper Folk Theater (Kackiás Folkszínház). From 12:10, the program picks up with the City Choir (Városi Kórus), performances by residents of Saint Louis Home (Szent Lajos Otthon), the Mizse Wild Roses (Mizsei Vadrózsák), the Michaelmas Daisy Folk Song Circle (Őszirózsa Népdalkör), Tornado’s acrobatic rock and roll, and a Phoenix Dance (Főnix Dance) showcase—an upbeat late morning wrapped in music, movement, and local spirit.
Afternoon crescendo to a big-night finish
At 14:00, winners are crowned in the jam and cake contest, then 14:30 brings Gáspár Kovács’s zither set, sweeping into a 15:00 concert by Bori Ruttkai and the Band (Ruttkai Bori és a Banda). Kids and grown-ups get the 16:00 Kámfor Puppet Theater (Kámfor Bábszínház) show, before a 16:30 Hungarian record attempt: a living strawberry picture. Folk vibes return at 18:00 with Veronika Pásku, and the night peaks at 20:00 with a large-scale concert by Republic (Republika). It’s a full-spectrum, family-friendly celebration where gastronomy, culture, and play meet—right by the water at 6050 Lajosmizse, Iskola Lake (Iskola-tó).
