The French Institute throws its annual Bastille Day street party on Saturday, July 11, 2026, outside its building at 17 Main Street (Fő utca), 1011 Budapest. It’s free, it’s open-air, and it’s all about music, food, and friendly chaos on the cobblestones.
Live Acts All Evening
Folk games kick things off, followed by hands-on drumming workshops that crank up the rhythm for a night of live shows. On stage: singer-songwriter Marion Roch, the genre-blending Saïd Chalaban, and powerhouse performer Acacia Mpofo. When the amps cool down, DJ Bassmotion takes over to keep the crowd moving until late.
Eat, Sip, Repeat
Between sets, grab a bite from the outdoor food stalls. Expect a compact but tempting lineup featuring Bambino Pizza and Petit Koncept, serving fresh slices and French-inspired treats to fuel the dancing. Drinks flow, conversations spill into the street, and the block party energy does the rest.
Participation is free—just show up and celebrate France in Budapest.
