Pros
+
Great for families: flexible two- or three-course menus, kid-friendly options like breaded cod or burger, plus dessert choices keep everyone happy
+
Super affordable for a U.S. traveler: $18.90–$23.00 including a soft drink, a glass of wine/beer, and coffee is a steal in a central European capital
+
Easy central location: 42–44 Dohány Street is walkable to major sights (Jewish Quarter, Great Synagogue) and well served by trams and metro
+
No Hungarian needed: staff in central Budapest restaurants typically speak good English, menus are straightforward, and booking for small parties is simple
+
Weekly-changing menu means repeat visits won’t feel samey, with vegetarian and lactose-free options clearly noted
+
Car-friendly too: on-site parking can be validated with your bill, rare for a city-center spot
+
Compared with Sunday roasts or set lunches in Western Europe, you get similar quality at a lower price, plus a drink-and-coffee bundle - ARAZ isn’t an internationally famous “destination restaurant,” so it may not feel like a bucket-list foodie experience
Cons
Only runs Sundays 12:00–14:30, so timing is tight and not ideal if you’re day-tripping outside the city
If you’re seeking classic Hungarian icons (goulash, chimney cake), the rotating menu may lean more modern than traditional
Can get busy in this tourist-heavy district; reservations for larger groups need email, and a 12% service charge is added
