Nestled at 5 Vasvári Pál Street, the Vasvári Synagogue puts learning and prayer at the heart of its community, thanks in large part to Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, a key figure in Hungary’s Chabad movement. Built for worship and Torah reverence by the Budapest Sász Chevra (Talmud Society), the synagogue draws crowds for services, classes, and lively gatherings.
Weekly Prayer Timetable
Every Friday begins with Mincha (afternoon prayer) at 3:50 PM, followed by Kabbalat Shabbat with Rabbi Oberlander at 4:20 PM. Shabbat dinner and Kiddush on the upper floor start at 5:10 PM, followed by learning time at 6:10 PM. Saturdays begin at 9:15 AM with morning prayers, with Mincha at 3:30 PM, dinner, Pirkei Avot (Pirké Ávot) study, and closing Maariv at 4:40 PM. From Sunday to Friday, morning prayers start at 8:10 AM, with Thursday’s service also streamed live on Zoom.
