The city also debuts a major museum event: Totus Tuus, an 18-room exhibition on Saint John Paul II’s life, personal relics, and Marian devotion—and how he shaped history. It’s a first for Hungary, assembled with four major European museums. The show lands in repeated week-long slots to spread the crowds: April 28–May 3; May 5–10; May 12–17; May 19–24; May 26–31; June 2–7; June 9–14; June 16–21; June 23–28; June 30–July 5; July 7–12; July 14–19; July 21–26; July 28–August 2; August 4–9; August 11–16; August 18–23; August 25–30; September 1–6; September 8–13; September 15–20; September 22–27.

Music under candlelight and a global hit musical

Heritage, fish, and flowers

May 9 is Memorial Sites Day: the Medieval Ruin Garden – National Memorial and the Coronation Basilica National Memorial Visitor Center lay on living-history demos, kid-friendly learning games, crafts, and expert talks—a full-family deep dive into Hungarian heritage.
Also on May 9, the 11th Fehérvár Fish Festival returns to the Palotaváros lakes, one of the city’s foodie favorites. Expect a lively cook-off, stage programs, and family activities by the water.
From May 22–25, the Whitsun Flower Dream turns Town Hall Square into a fragrant gallery. Master florists create vibrant installations across multiple spots so the city blooms right through the holiday weekend.

Fairy tales and Children’s Day takeover

May 23 brings the 10th Maroshegy Family Fairy Tale Day and neighborhood picnic. Then on May 31, the Hetedhét Toy Festival takes over the historic center for Children’s Day: games galore, music-meets-story shows across Town Hall Square, the Main Street, and the Hetedhét Toy Museum. The beloved Seven Trials returns, stilt-walkers roam, and the street play zones blend old favorites and new surprises.

Summer: festivals, fire, and iron

June warms up with the FEZEN Festival from June 19–21, one of Székesfehérvár’s big music weekends. On June 20, sparks fly at the 22nd Fire-and-Iron Festival on Rác Street and at the open-air skanzen: bladesmiths, dagger-makers, blacksmiths, and weaponsmiths from across Hungary stoke the coals and revive traditional crafts among preserved historic houses. A professional Metal Day also appears on June 19.
Through early summer, the Totus Tuus exhibition continues its weekly cycles, keeping the museum calendar full and flexible.
