May 1 in Székesfehérvár goes all-out outdoors this year with a double bill: the 15th Sports May Day and a nature-first Eco May Day. Expect activity, games, and a bonus long-weekend family getaway at Gorsium Archaeological Park, where an ancient spring festival rolls in with an imperial chariot, gladiator shows, theater, traditional street food festival dishes, and a bustling market.
Citywide Sports Parade and Training
The day starts with the city’s signature parade uniting thousands of athletes and fans from the Petőfi statue, then shifts at 10:00 to the Bregyó-köz Regional Athletics Center. Pros and first-timers train side by side through demos and open sessions, turning the track into a communal gym under open skies.
Eco Fun at Sóstó
Over at the Sóstó Visitor Center, the Eco May Day serves up hands-on craft workshops, quality eco-focused booths, animal showcases, family storytelling sessions, and a green playground. It’s a relaxed, kid-friendly hub designed to spark curiosity about nature while keeping the holiday vibe strong.
