Szombathely’s bustling flea market takes over the Market Hall (Vásárcsarnok) every Sunday from 5:00 to 12:00. Dive into a treasure hunt packed with retro finds, antiques, books, handmade goods, and those hard-to-find items missing from stores. It’s sustainable, too: snag stylish clothes and accessories for a fraction of regular prices while keeping items in circulation. Expect surprises that add one-of-a-kind magic to your home.
Where to Find It
Head to Hall II on the north side of the Market Hall, under the canopy, plus the small hall off Hunyadi Street (Hunyadi út) 5–7, 9700. The vibe is big on Sundays with ZSIBI, and midweek brings MINI ZSIBI on Wednesdays for an extra dose of treasure hunting.

Cons
–
Early hours (5:00–12:00) mean a very early start if you’re staying in Budapest; best deals can go fast
–
Szombathely isn’t a headline destination for U.S. visitors, so you’ll need to plan transport and lodging more actively
–
International name recognition is modest, so don’t expect extensive English signage or tourist services on-site
–
Selection can be hit-or-miss week to week; if you’re after something specific, there’s no guarantee you’ll find it
