
Szomolya rolls out a packed 2025 calendar and an early peek at 2026, mixing state, church, and secular red-letter days with tradition-keeping fun. The village’s headliner returns: Cseresznyefesztivál (Cherry Festival), starring its pride and joy, the black cherry. Expect the Kisasszonynapi Búcsú and a Harvest Celebration, plus year-round musts: the Kaptárkő study trail, the lookout, the folk house, the village museum, and the rece lace exhibition.

Wine, Cellars, and Feasts
The Nagy family winery, founded in 2001, is based in Szomolya on the eastern edge of the Eger Wine Region, with vineyards, a cellar, and sales under family care. Another family cellar here praises a terroir they call the Creator’s Palm. Year-round by appointment: cellar tours with tastings, oven-fired wine-and-food menus, a spectacle-style fattened-pig program, wine snacks, unlimited food and drink, and dinner shows featuring the region’s best wines.
