Malom és Kacsa (Mill and Duck) in Tata once ground grain; now it’s the town’s liveliest cultural hub. Theater nights, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and serious cuisine come together on the shore of Old Lake, with a knockout view and a kitchen that knows what it’s doing. Come for the programs, stay for the flavors. It’s a lakeside gastro adventure with a panoramic backdrop that does half the talking.
Nov 19: Róbert Koltai Doesn’t Plan to Die
“Sose halok meg?” (I’ll Never Die?) is a cheerful, musical, story-packed solo night from a towering figure of Hungarian culture, Róbert Koltai. You’ve seen him in The Stationmaster’s Tale (Indul a bakterház), Professor Ämbär (Ámbár tanár úr), The Steamer’s Coming (Megy a gőzös), Csocsó – or Long Live May Day! (Csocsó – avagy Éljen május elseje), Hippolyt, Smack the Donkey! (Csapd le csacsi!), and We Never Die (Sose halunk meg). He’s not only an actor but also a screenwriter and director who nails drama and light comedy alike—and yes, he was Illetékes elvtárs, too. Expect Dés songs, teacher parodies, poems, theater tales, and confessions: a musical, verse-drizzled, story-splashed cabaret. Questions by director Ildikó Gaál. Performing, riffing, reciting, singing, and parodying: Jászai Award winner and “Immortals” company lifetime member, Róbert Koltai. Tata. Date: 2025.11.19.
Nov 19–20: Women’s Resources & Experiences – Tata Retreat
A two-day women’s retreat in the organizer’s hometown, where roots, memories, and quiet strength set the tone. We slow down and reconnect—with ourselves and each other. It’s not just self-development: a theater experience and a Tata city tour round out the recharge, blending culture and community. If you’re ready to pause, tap into your inner resources, and fill up on shared moments, this is your spot. Tata. Dates: 2025.11.19–2025.11.20.
Nov 29: Dinner with Hidden Treasures
A special wine dinner where gastronomy and wine culture strike sparks inside Malom és Kacsa’s cozy walls. Gault&Millau–lauded chefs build a menu where each course lifts a wine’s character, dialing in perfect harmony. It’s one of those evenings where culinary pleasure, good company, and the lakeside mood lock into memory. Tata. Date: 2025.11.29.
Dec 10: Nick Hornby – CiciKrisztus (Boob Christ) Multidisciplinary Caper
Our hero Dave knows zip about art. A former bouncer, he’s hired by a contemporary gallery to guard a controversial piece—about 118 inches tall and 63 inches wide—made with, let’s say, unusual technique. Not everyone loves it, and interpretations fly. Dave’s view of art—and this painting—evolves, and he defends it with growing fire against his wife, the media, and a mob of outraged religious fanatics. In this twisty, character-comedy romp, lightning strikes and fresh trouble blindsides Dave. Nick Hornby’s short story is turned into a site-specific museum-theater performance by director Géza Bodor, starring Béla Ficzere as Dave. Tata. Date: 2025.12.10.
Dec 29: Soul-Soother – Guided Relaxation, Live Music, Winter Menu
Step off the treadmill of tasks and expectations. The “Léleksimogató” evening blends deep replenishment for soul and body: guided deep relaxation with crystal singing bowls, a sound-and-vibration journey where thoughts dim, the soul goes quiet, and the body releases stress, pent-up emotions, and tension—paired with a culinary trip through winter-inspired flavors. A woven experience where taste cradles the body and sound embraces the spirit. Tata. Date: 2025.12.29.
Jan 14: SexEd – Cabaret for Adults
Sex Education Cabaret asks the questions everyone dodges: How do you get there? How often is too often? Is daily okay? Should it hurt? How long is acceptable body hair? Zero tolerance? When do you break out the condom? No one wants awkward, but we go there—through flops and fireworks alike. On stage: the Hair Demon, the Hormone Creature, the Body-Fluid Spirit, the Cringe Goblin, the Virgin Ghost, the Size Squad, and the duo Vasz and Bina. Tata. Date: 2026.01.14.
Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs.
