when: 2026.02.19., Thursday

2026.02.19. (Thursday)
2890 Tata, Lakeside St. 19 (Tópart u. 19.)

Every Thursday from February 5, 2026, the lakeside Sauna World becomes a sanctuary of heat, aroma, and music from 6:00 p.m. A weekly recharge for body and mind in a stunning setting, guided by sauna master Tamás Tóth.

Between each aromatic “aufguss” round, guests are advised to take 45–50 minutes of rest, ideally out in the fresh air in the wellness garden. During breaks, refreshments are available from the Café & Spritz Bar. While the sessions are on, the Finnish sauna operates alongside the steam room and infrared sauna, so the full experience is always available.

Entry is only possible with pre-purchased tickets, which are exchanged for wristbands at reception. The Finnish and infrared saunas are swimsuit-free; sauna sheets are provided, and lockers are available. Here, sweating isn’t just warming up—it’s a ritual. Expect an uplifting journey inward where heat, steam, scents, and water blend for total renewal. The design puts harmony and calm first: warm tones, natural wood, mood lighting, and quiet spaces set the scene for deep relaxation.

What You’ll Use

Finnish sauna (90–95 °C, low humidity): The classic session for detox, immune support, and stress relief. Regular use stimulates circulation, improves sleep quality, and eases tension.

Infrared sauna (50–60 °C): Deep-penetrating infrared helps loosen muscles and speed recovery—especially great for desk workers, athletes, and anyone with back pain.

Steam room (40–45 °C, near 100% humidity): Warm mist supports skin cleansing, eases joint pain, and softens muscle tightness.

Spaces and Practicalities

A calm relaxation area with loungers, soft music, and atmospheric lighting invites you to switch off. Parking is available by the Malom & Duck Bistro (Malom és Kacsa) lot on Malom Street and on nearby streets. The hotel’s gated parking is reserved exclusively for hotel guests.

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibe if your kids are teens or older—quiet zones, calm lighting, and outdoor garden breaks feel chill, not rowdy
+
Internationally familiar concept—Finnish, infrared, and steam saunas are well-known wellness staples, so you’ll “get it”
+
Tata’s Old Lake setting is gorgeous and photogenic, adding a unique lakeside twist you won’t get at a typical urban spa
+
English not strictly necessary—ritual flow is intuitive, staff can usually manage basics, and signage is simple
+
Easy enough to reach by car from Budapest (about 1–1.5 hours), with street parking and nearby lots
+
Public transport workable: Budapest–Tata trains are frequent; short taxi or walk from Tata station makes it doable
+
Competitive with Nordic aufguss nights—smaller, more intimate, and atmospheric, with café/spritz breaks between rounds
Cons
Not ideal for small children—swimsuit-free zones and quiet etiquette make it less of a family-with-littles outing
Tata isn’t a headline destination for most U.S. visitors, so you’ll need to plan extra time vs. staying in Budapest
Some instructions or rituals may be led in Hungarian; you might miss nuances if you don’t ask for a quick English rundown
Ticket pre-purchase and fixed Thursday timing limit spontaneity, and programs may change last-minute
