Kistarcsa is heating up on September 20, 2025, with the Görhöny Festival (Potato Cake Festival) and the Tulipán Slovak National Folklore Gathering. All the action happens at Simándy Square, where you can shop at the bustling marketplace, let kids loose on a folk playground, and get hands-on with craft workshops.
Folklore, Party Bands, and Potato Battles
Festivities kick off at 10:00 AM with the Pántlika National Minority Folklore Meeting running alongside the famous Görhöny (potato cake) baking competition. By 2:00 PM, judges announce the winners, just before a short celebration to mark Kistarcsa’s 20th anniversary as a city.
The fun continues at 3:00 PM with the Crazy Little Queen Tribute Band, and then the Live Party Band takes over from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for a full-blown street party. All-day food, games, crafts, and music make this a can’t-miss cultural celebration!
