On February 2 in Tihany, religious communities across the Archdiocese of Veszprém will gather for the Day of Consecrated Life. The evening begins with Vespers at 5:15 p.m., followed by a festive Mass at 6 p.m., led by Archbishop György Udvardy of Veszprém. Everyone is invited to come in great numbers to pray together for our religious and for new vocations to religious life.
Marriage Preparation Courses in Veszprém
A recurring series of marriage preparation courses will run at Padányi School, 6 Szeghlety J. Street, Veszprém. The course helps couples prepare for marriage and family life, exploring the spirituality of marriage; the families we come from; communication in relationships and conflict resolution; intimacy in marriage; male–female differences and the pitfalls of marriage; and parenting and family life. Sessions are scheduled for February 6, 13, 20, 27, and March 6.
Caritas Charity Ball in Sümeg
On February 13, the 4th Veszprém Archdiocesan Caritas Ball will take place at Hotel Captain (Hotel Kapitány) in Sümeg to support families in crisis. Reception starts at 6 p.m., welcomes at 7 p.m. Chief patrons: Archbishop Dr. György Udvardy and Imre Polgárdy, Chairman of the General Assembly of Veszprém County Municipality. Program highlights include greetings, a gala dinner, live music by the Gin-Tonic Band, Sümeg Rendezvous (Sümegi randevú) performed by Zoltán Miller and Bernadett Vágó, plus a raffle with valuable prizes. Tickets cost 16,000 HUF (about 43.56 USD) per adult and 12,000 HUF (about 32.67 USD) per child aged 4–14.
Valentine’s Day: Sealed With Love
On February 14 at 5 p.m., couples are warmly invited to the Celebration of Marriage at the Main Seminary building, 20 Vár Street, 8200 Veszprém. Arrival from 4:30 p.m. The evening features the performance Sealed Love, with confessions, letter excerpts, and iconic songs about love. Performers Erika Náray and Krisztián Nyáry share selections from the correspondence of famous couples. Admission is free, but registration is required—please indicate your intent to attend.
Biblical Role-Play for Kids
Children are invited back to the Biblical Role-Play series, a social skills and emotional intelligence development program for ages 7–10. Sessions are hosted in Veszprém at the Archbishop’s Office, Gizella Hall, 18/2 Jutasi Road, 8200 Veszprém. Sunday dates: February 15, March 1, March 15, March 29, April 12, April 26. Each session runs 3:30–5:30 p.m., two hours per occasion.
Wine Tasting for Married Couples
As part of Marriage Week, a special couples’ wine tasting welcomes spouses to savor time together, conversation, and the harmony of flavors. Venue: Gizella Hotel and Restaurant, 48 Jókai Mór Street, Veszprém—an intimate, elegant setting. Time: February 11 at 6 p.m. The event is free but requires registration due to limited seating. Featuring selected wines of the Archdiocese of Veszprém, the evening invites couples to step out of the daily rush and strengthen shared experiences over a glass of wine.
