Bagossy Brothers Company Rocks May 23

One of Hungary’s top bands, Bagossy Brothers Company, hits Túrkeve on Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m. Formed in May 2013 in Gyergyószentmiklós, their high-energy, crowd-pleasing gigs made them favorites in Transylvania (Erdély) and then stars across the Carpathian Basin (Kárpát-medence). Members: Bagossy Norbert (guitar, vocals), Bagossy László (bass, vocals), Bartis Szilárd (drums), Tatár Attila (guitars, vocals), Kozma Zsombor (violin, accordion, keys). Celebrate their 13 years on the festival’s main day!
Tickets for Saturday, May 23: Locals $11 (4000 HUF), non-locals $14 (5000 HUF).

Carson Coma Blasts May 24

Fresh alt-rock darlings Carson Coma storm the stage on Sunday, May 24 for a wild party. Catch their fresh sound, witty lyrics, and infectious energy live. The crew—Bóna Zsombor, Fekete Giorgio, Gaál Péter, Héra Barnabás, Jónás Attila, Kun Bálint—represents the new generation’s hottest indie rock, blending alt-rock with modern pop.
Tickets for Sunday, May 24: Locals $11 (4000 HUF), non-locals $14 (5000 HUF).
Weekend passes (May 23-24 concerts): Locals $17 (6000 HUF), non-locals $22 (8000 HUF).

Big Changes for Epic Quality

In past years, the festival ran on community spirit, grants, and volunteers to stay free. But the costs of mega-concerts—stage, sound, lights, security, artists, crew—outgrew funding. So main stage shows are now ticketed to keep (and boost) the quality you love. The festival stage moves to the Grove (bye, old Grove stage). Petőfi Square gets a new, bigger stage than the old pavilion one. Everything else stays free!
Mark May 22-24, 2026, in Túrkeve—your spot awaits!

Pros
+
This festival is super family-friendly with folk playgrounds, craft markets, and kid-safe activities alongside tasty food for all ages.
+
You'll get authentic Hungarian lamb goulash and regional eats cooked in cauldrons, way cheaper and more hands-on than similar food fests back in the US.
+
Rocking concerts by Bagossy Brothers and Carson Coma are a steal at $14 for non-locals, mixing indie vibes with folk traditions you won't see at American county fairs.
+
Most of the event is totally free—only the big Saturday and Sunday shows need cheap tickets—leaving tons of budget for goulash and souvenirs.
+
No Hungarian language skills required since it's all about food demos, music, crafts, and visual fun that translates anywhere.
+
Easy to reach by train from Budapest (about 2 hours to Túrkeve station) or car via highways, perfect for a day trip from the capital.
+
Pentecost weekend timing fits nicely with US vacation schedules, offering a unique blend of sheep herding culture and modern rock that's fresher than stuffy European folk fests. - Túrkeve is a small town off the beaten path, not well-known to foreign tourists who stick to Budapest or Lake Balaton.
Cons
The sheep festival theme isn't internationally famous like Oktoberfest or US state fairs, so it might feel niche if you're not into Hungarian traditions.
Hungarian bands mean lyrics could be lost if you don't speak the language, unlike global acts at bigger international events.
Smaller scale than massive US music fests or European food expos, with less variety in non-Hungarian entertainment.
