Every September in Budapest (Budapesti), the Araz Restaurant hosts a much-anticipated wine dinner, and the 2025 season opener is shaping up to be something truly special. On September 25, wine lovers are invited to experience the best of Sauska Winery—with five courses expertly paired with five of their acclaimed wines.
The Main Event
Everything kicks off at 7:00 PM. Sauska spans two famous Hungarian wine regions—Tokaj and Villány—blending modern sensibility with a deep respect for tradition and terroir. The wines themselves are introduced by Sebastian Giraldo, three-time Hungarian Sommelier Champion and ambassador of Sauska, who guides guests through this exceptional tasting.
A Menu to Impress
The menu is designed by Áron Barka (Barka Áron), featuring:
Chardonnay 2023 paired with crispy duck cracklings and peach chutney;
Siller 2024 served with juicy pork belly, roasted pepper potato pasta, and crisp cabbage;
Kékfrankos 2022 alongside grilled sirloin, potato foam, creamy Japanese beans, and roasted onion;
Cabernet Franc Makár 2016 matched with lamb tenderloin, mushroom soufflé, curried yellow split pea cream, roasted chestnut, and beet jus;
And for dessert—Cuvée 7 2020 with blackberry profiterole, floating island, and fudge.
