Veresegyház’s open-air theatre season is back from June to August with the Mézesvölgyi Nyár festival, the biggest cross-arts event in Pest County. Expect hit plays, big-name actors, concerts, and family shows under the summer sky at Búcsú tér. Organizers promise a mix of genres—comedies and classics, musicals and premieres—with a warm, communal vibe and serious star power.
2026.06.21 – Charlie concert
Horváth Charlie, a towering figure of Hungarian pop-rock with that unmistakable smoky voice, opens the season. The set is a tour through blues, swaggering jazz, and true Hungarian rock, tuned to the mood of the Veresegyház evening. Expect evergreen crowd-pleasers from Jég dupla jéggel to Nézz az ég felé—the kind of anthems generations know by heart and sing with him. Venue: 2112 Veresegyház, Búcsú tér.
2026.07.03 – Neil Simon: Pletykafészek (Rumors) – two-act farce
Lean back and watch rumors ricochet with brutal efficiency through the gilded living rooms of the upper crust. Neil Simon’s sparkling farce thrives on misunderstandings, vanity, and panic, as the elite tie themselves in knots to avoid scandal—and only make it worse. Veresegyház.
2026.07.07 – László Dés – Péter Geszti – Krisztián Grecsó: A Pál utcai fiúk (The Paul Street Boys)
The classic is reimagined not as children’s squabbles but as clashes between young adults, turning the drama up several notches. Modern music and lyrics amplify the stakes. The production leans on acoustic stagecraft, the actors’ rhythmic inventiveness, youthful force, humor, and the cathartic punch of the original novel. Veresegyház.
2026.07.08 – A Pál utcai fiúk – musical in two acts
A companion staging with the same rawer, older edge, again driven by live acoustic textures, creative percussion, and that unmistakable bittersweet energy. Veresegyház.
2026.07.12 – A dzsungel könyve (The Jungle Book)
Mowgli, the human boy who outwits his enemies and seeks happiness with his adopted family beneath the thick canopy. A can’t-miss tale of friendship and love, tugging at heartstrings for kids and the eternally young. Veresegyház.
2026.07.15 – Jeanie Linders: Menopauza (Menopause The Musical)
That time in life does arrive, and while many hide it, others crack jokes. Jeanie Linders’ global hit does both out loud: frank, raucously funny, and disarmingly honest. Veresegyház.
2026.07.19 – Péter Geszti concert
The maestro of positive energy blasts through Rapülők stadium-filling dance bangers, Jazz+Az funk, Gringó Sztár grooves, and pop delicacies from Létvágy—all live, wrapped in bold stage tech, humor, and candid lyrics. Veresegyház.
2026.07.22 – Csengetett, Mylord? (You Rang, M’Lord?) – world premiere
In 1920s London, widowed Lord Meldrum shares a grand house with his brother, mother-in-law, and two daughters. Downstairs, a cook, footman, butler, and maid are no less colorful than their “betters.” The beloved TV comedy of upstairs-downstairs contrasts gets a stage life of its own, with the cult characters still chasing passions—money for some, skirts for others. Veresegyház.
2026.07.26 – Steven Moffat: Rém Rendes Vendég (The Unfriend) – two-act comedy
On a cruise, polite British couple Peter and Debbie befriend an American widow, Elsa. Addresses are exchanged, vague promises made—usually forgotten. Not this time. One day Elsa rings their doorbell. Meanwhile, the internet serves up alarming tidbits about her, and panic sets in, especially with two teenagers at home. They don’t want to offend; they don’t dare let her in. Enter a nosy neighbor and a police sergeant to further stir the chaos. Hot off a London West End run, the Budapest Játékszín production arrives in Veresegyház. Veresegyház.
2026.07.28 – Ne most, Drágám! (Not Now, Darling) – comedy
Love triangles, mink coats, scantily dressed ladies, garments sailing out of windows, and pure, unadulterated mayhem—set in London’s most elegant fur salon, crafted for carefree laughter. Veresegyház.
2026.08.07 – Anconai szerelmesek (Lovers of Ancona) – musical comedy
One of Hungary’s most-performed comedies of the past 20 years blends Italian commedia dell’arte flair with classic Hungarian humor and 1970s Italian hits. It’s a sunlit, shamelessly entertaining crowd-pleaser. Veresegyház.
2026.08.11 – Anconai szerelmesek a Balatonon (Lovers of Ancona at Lake Balaton) – musical comedy
Two decades after miraculous reunions and multiple marriages, the gang reconvenes in the balmy summer of 1989. They head to Hungary—some with softening midriffs, some with silvering hair, some trailing teenagers—chasing roots, rekindled romances, calm, and happiness. Cue plenty of all that, thanks to Békés, the officious head of a Lake Balaton SZOT resort. The soundtrack croons bel canto favorites: Azzurro, Bella Ciao, Sono l’italiano. Veresegyház.
2026.08.15 – Egy életem – biographical stand-up with Imre Csuja
Imre Csuja tells his life story the way audiences love him: modestly, warmly, and with humor. He recalls a mother who “directed” him as a child, early stage years, days of performing four shows in a row, lessons from elder greats, and how he met his wife over 40 years ago. Film legends Üvegtigris (Glass Tiger) and Valami Amerika (A Kind of America) also surface, with workshop secrets revealed. Veresegyház.
2026.08.29 – Nem rongyos élet – újravarrva | operetta gala
A promise made last year, now gleefully overdelivered: the roaring night when drama titans and operetta stars shared the Mézesvölgyi stage in a whirlwind csárdás returns—bigger, brighter, and cheekier. Veresegyház.
