Budapest and seven other cities will host the 22nd Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival from November 11–19, 2025. This year’s slogan, “We Exist Together,” prompts audiences to think about how we live side by side amid fractures, conflicts, and rising global pressures. The program spans multiple venues and includes award-winning competition titles from every continent, not only probing raw, sensitive issues but also outlining real ways to cope and encouraging more nuanced thinking.
What’s On
Expect films that move beyond doom, blending rigor with empathy and a streak of problem-solving. The lineup highlights stories that refuse easy answers, asking viewers to sit with complexity and then act. It’s as much about collective reflection as it is about cinema that lands like a jolt.
Opening Night
The opener is Coexistence, Yeah Right… (Együttélés, na persze…), fresh off a Sundance Special Jury Award, a portrait of an Israeli–Palestinian stand-up comedian walking the tightrope between humor and hard reality.
